country garden thank you

The pink roses on this card remind me of the Queen Elizabeth rose bush I have in my garden.  I am waiting for that special moment when my first rose blooms. Mean while ... we still have lots of slushy snow!

This card was made with Hero Arts stamps:  French Post, Friend Definition, All Occasion Messages and the rose from Two Birds. Several Distress Inks were used including forest moss, old paper, tattered rose and victorian velvet. The background was paper embossed. The Friend Definition was embossed using VersaMark and white embossing powder.  The small rose with the pink pearl is hand made.  I entered this card in the 50grand HERO ARTS celebration and contest.

Thank you so much for visiting.  Take care and have a safe week!

birthday wishes with butterflies and dots

The butterfly image used here is from the Basic Grey Curio Collection. I tied this image on to embossed paper with string. I then attached it to a kraft background that I had stamped with HERO ARTS Friend Definition and Cling Dots using distress inks. I attached a couple pieces of tape and a small tag stamped with Happy Birthday from HERO ARTS Messages set.

Thanks for visiting. I hope you're creating all sorts of wonderful things!

sweet thoughts of you

I love this pretty image from Magenta. I stamped this image several times in different tones of distress inks. I found that the darker walnut stain showed the image clearly, but I was taken with the faded shade of vintage photo. I loved the feeling of having to hold the card closer to examine the details. I thought it somehow brought a warmth to the card.

We still have a covering of snow. I love to see all of the foot prints the animals and birds leave in the snow. I noticed fox prints throughout the winter. I am hoping to see a family of fox again this spring. The young fox are adorable, they all seem to have their own personality.

I look forward to spending time after work looking at all of the beautiful cards everyone is creating! Thank you so much for visiting. Have a wonderful week!

my secret garden

When I started making this card, I stamped the small butterfly and dragonfly images from  HERO ARTS Antique Engravings CL383 onto a few tags.  I just fell in love with these small images, they seemed so precious to me.  I added another small tag stamped with a 'happy birthday' sentiment from HERO ARTS Messages CL181. These three little stamped images struck me to be so beautiful that I realized that they had to take center stage.  I completed the secret garden with HERO ARTS Florish Grids CL425 stamped onto core'dinations cardstock textured with a garden pattern, a small piece of  patterned paper with flowers and vines, distress inks, lace, ribbon and tape.

It rained here most of the day, but now it's snowing and very icy. I stayed warm inside creating a few cards and dreaming of my garden to come :) !  I hope you you are having a safe and happy weekend. Thank you so much for your visit, I hope to see you soon!
